Michael Rustenberghe

With more than 50 years in the commercial real estate industry, Michael Rustenberghe is a seasoned leader who has built, led, and successfully exited multiple organizations — including his largest to date, ID Plans. His career has been defined by operational excellence, strategic growth, and a deep understanding of commercial property portfolios nationwide.
Having owned businesses throughout his life, Michael always envisioned building something alongside one of his children. While he has seven kids, it was Colton who shared his entrepreneurial drive, competitive spirit, and passion for leadership. Their shared values — faith, hard work, integrity, family, and grit — created the foundation for what would become High Inspectations.
After decades of walking commercial properties, Michael recognized a consistent gap in the industry: rooftop maintenance was reactive, inconsistent, and often overlooked. He brought the idea forward, and together with Colton, they built a company focused exclusively on proactive commercial rooftop care.
While High Inspectations has grown rapidly, Michael often says this season of building a business alongside his son has been the most rewarding chapter of his career.

Entrepreneurship has been part of Colton’s DNA from the beginning. At just twelve years old, he launched his first business selling firewood — an early indicator of the drive that would later fuel multiple ventures.
Before leading High Inspectations, Colton began his career in commercial real estate as a rooftop data collector. Spending years physically walking commercial roof systems gave him a firsthand understanding of the industry’s biggest blind spot: the absence of structured, preventative rooftop maintenance programs
When Michael approached him with the concept of building a specialized rooftop maintenance company, the answer was immediate — yes.
Eight years later, under the leadership of Mike and Colton, High Inspectations now services 1000+ commercial rooftops annually, performs extensive rooftop enhancement repairs, and continues expanding nationwide. What began as an idea rooted in experience and observation has grown into a dedicated commercial rooftop maintenance company serving multi-site property teams across the United States.
